20 years since this photo was taken in the most beautiful city in the world, along with Melbourne obviously. So when I decided to have four consecutive, long weeks off work the decision where I would spend these golden weeks wasn’t too hard. Best way to celebrate my 40th birthday is among friends down under!
So on September, 29 I will depart from Göteborg and Landvetter Airport at 7.00 a.m and I am actually thinking of spoiling myself with an overnight stay at a city centre hotel. Maybe indulge myself with a glass of bubbly. I love Landvetter Airport, not to big and somewhat closer to the continent and the world. Well, at least closer to London and Heathrow where I am heading. After absorbing the British ambiance for a couple of hours I’ll embark on the huge Cathay Pacific 777 that will bring me to the brash Asian city of Hong Kong. Three hours and then finally, boarding my flight to Melbourne! Only this time, I’ll touch down on Australian ground in the evening. I was thinking of kneeling down and kiss the tarmac, but I would most likely been dragged away by security to answer some questions. Guess I have to find another way to worship the Australian soil.🤔
Four long, consecutive weeks of great company, wine, cheese, kangaroos, cockatoos, snakes, spiders, opera house, cities, road trips, countrylife and maybe, if possible horse riding. My agenda is still quite blank, all I know is that it will be awesome whatever the plans may be.
In the meantime, there are lists to be written, plans to be made and a lot of work hours to persevere before that glass of bubbly that inaugurates my holiday trip.
So far I have printed out checklists, packing lists, to do lists for my neighbours who will look after my horses and now I am waiting for my sister to scribble down the souvenirs she wants me to bring back. To her. 😉 Visa is approved and I have received the flight tickets after getting the nod from British Airways and Cathay Pacific. Next on my list is the purchase of a decent suitcase. That’s a great way to start off my new life as a globetrotter!
